• Making The Connection

     Congratulations on your first step!!!

We are so glad you want to know God and His Son Jesus! God loves you and He has this amazing purpose for you!!!

We must acknowledge that we are sinnersEven if we try to justify ourselves with thoughts like, “I’m not nearly as bad as that person,” or “I live a good, moral life,” the Bible tells us (1)As it is written: ‘There is none righteous, no, not one.'” The scripture goes on to say (2)…for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God…” Everyone has sinned in the eyes of God. All of us stand guilty before Him.

There is a price to pay for sin: The Bible Says (3)”the wages of sin is death…” in this case is eternal death. What is sin? Sin is simply disobedience to the will of God (4)(I John 3:4) and the price we pay for sin is eternity in hell separated from God. Not sure about you but I don’t want to spend eternity in hell, I have a lot of people waiting for me in Heaven.

The beautiful love of God made a way for us: God provided a remedy for our situation by allowing His Son to pay the penalty for us. His wonderful love for us, as the Bible says (5)”For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not parish but have everlasting life.” What an awesome love and promise! The Bible tells us in more detail (6)”…God demonstrate His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Has anyone died for you or in your place? Jesus did through His precious love for you. Jesus did not wait for mankind to “get it together,” but He gave up His life as a sacrifice while we were separated from Him. WHAT LOVE!

The Bible says (7)”For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is a gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.” Scripture also says (8)”Jesus said ..’I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me'” You cannot earn your way in, it’s only by faith through grace. Who is that Grace? Jesus.

Salvation is God’s solution, but our decision: No one can choose eternal life for you or force you to accept this wonderful gift. You must make the choice yourself. Jesus said (9)”…repent, and believe the gospel.” Other Scripture says that if you (10)”…confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” and also (11)”But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become the children of God.” Child of God, how awesome is that to call God Father! The Bible wonderfully puts it this way (12)Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God!!

There are two things God is looking for: 1. Repentance of sin. Repent basically means to make a U turn, turnaround, basically change direction, and 2Acceptance of Jesus as Lord and Savior.  Only we can make that decision.  When we do, God receives us into His Family, how awesome!  The Bible tells us (13)”…if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.”  Wow! All your sins have been wiped clean and you can start new in the life God intended for you to live and have eternal life!

Ready to make the connection?: Accepting what God has for you the wonderful love and gift of salvation can be received by prayer, prayer is simply talking to God directly, God does not want to talk to you through a mediator, He wants to talk to you.  It’s very important to keep the lines of communication open in a relationship if it is to succeed and flourish.  Prayer is the way we initiate our connection with God, and prayer is also the way we maintain our connection with God.

His free gift of eternal life is to all, so we invite you to make that choice today and accept Him in your heart today and receive His beautiful gift of salvation.  We encourage to pray this simple prayer and mean it from the bottom of the heart.  It’s not a magical prayer and it does not mean anything if your heart is not behind it.  Just pray this prayer:

Father in the Name of Jesus, I thank You for the gift of salvation through Your Son, Jesus Christ.  I repent of all my sins and ask You to forgive me.  I confess Jesus as the Lord of my life.  I believe He died on the cross and was raised from the dead that I might receive His life…now and forever

Jesus, thank You for saving me and giving me eternal life.  I invite you into my heart, and I ask you to change me on the inside.  Help me, through the power of the Holy Spirit, to live life in the way that would honor You.  In Jesus’ Name…Amen.
